How much does a counseling or treatment session cost?
A consulting session at one of our offices in Phnom Penh, Battambang or Siem Reap is free and open to everyone. However, you’re kindly asked to make a voluntary donation for EMDR Cambodia.
How many sessions are typically needed to heal from a mental health problem or disorder?
The number of sessions required depends on three factors:
- the severity of the problem
- the personal supporting system resp. the personal environment of the client (resources like job, money, funding, friends, community etc)
- the client him- or herself respectively his or her resilience in dealing with the issue.
International research says that if the problem is based on a single event resp. a “simple” trauma, 8-12 sessions are necessary. But if it’s a complex trauma, it might be more or less sessions than that.
How long does each counseling or psychological treatment session last?
Each counseling session lasts 45 to 60 minutes. For EMDR treatment however, the session can take up to 90 minutes.
